Hi, I’m James Simpson, the founder of Karoo Select. I was born and raised in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, where I grew up surrounded by incredible wildlife, skilled artisans, and a deep cultural appreciation for craftsmanship. After moving to the United States and working within luxury interior design, I noticed a growing demand for authentic, ethically sourced décor—but very few options that offered true transparency or a meaningful connection to their origins.

Karoo Select was created to bridge that gap.

My mission is simple: bring the beauty, heritage, and craftsmanship of South Africa to the U.S. luxury décor market in a way that honors both nature and the artisans who shape it. Every piece we curate reflects ethical sourcing, cultural authenticity, and a commitment to quality—values shaped by my upbringing and my passion for meaningful design.
